Our Programs

Programs Built Around Real Needs

Every program starts with a conversation, not a form. Here's how we show up for our neighbors, week after week.

Grovehaven Alliance runs three core programs, each built around a need our neighbors told us mattered most: reliable food, direct outreach for people sleeping outside or in crisis, and regular company for seniors who spend too much time alone. Together, they reach more than 1,200 neighbors every month.

Fresh Table Food Access

Fresh Table is our weekly food access program, built to feel less like a food bank line and more like grocery shopping with a friend. Every week, volunteers pack boxes of fresh produce, pantry staples, and household basics sourced from local farms and grocery partners, then distribute them at three neighborhood sites and through a mobile pantry route for people who can't easily travel.

  • Weekly grocery boxes with fresh produce, protein, and pantry staples
  • A mobile pantry route for homebound and mobility-limited neighbors
  • Partnerships with local farms and grocers to help reduce food waste
  • No paperwork or proof of need required — just show up

Direct Outreach

Neighborhood Outreach

Twice a week, outreach teams walk familiar routes through our community carrying water, hygiene kits, over-the-counter medicine, and warm layers in colder months. It's slow, relational work — the same volunteers return to the same corners, building the kind of trust that eventually opens the door to housing referrals, medical care, or simply a conversation someone needed.

  • Water, snacks, and hygiene kits on every outreach walk
  • Basic first aid and over-the-counter medicine access
  • Seasonal supply drives for warm layers and cooling essentials
  • Direct referrals to housing, healthcare, and counseling partners

Outreach teams head out every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Join a team →

Elder Companionship

Companion Visits

Isolation is one of the quietest hardships we see. Companion Visits pairs a volunteer with a homebound or isolated senior for a weekly visit — sometimes that means running an errand or helping with a device, and just as often it means sitting on the couch, looking through old photo albums, and simply listening.

  • Weekly one-on-one visits, thoughtfully matched for compatibility
  • Help with errands, technology, and light paperwork
  • Regular check-in calls between in-person visits
  • A standing companion for holidays and hard anniversaries

New volunteers are paired after a short orientation and a background check. Get started →
